Do I use who or whom? Is it affect or effect? What do I do with a semicolon? What about dashes and colons? Principal and principle? This presentation has all the answers to the most common grammar questions and issues. Great for writers, editors, students, and anyone would like to be more confident when writing and speaking. Using a fun quiz, and we will cover parallel structure, agreement, often-confused words, commonly misspelled and mispronounced words – with a sense of humor!
Arlene Miller is a board member of BAIPA and a member of Redwood Writers. She is the author of The Best Little Grammar Book Ever, Correct Me If I’m Wrong, Beyond Worksheets, and the editor of Redwood Writers 2012 anthology, Vintage Voices: Call of the Wild. She teaches grammar at College of Marin and is available for workshops. Arlene holds a BA in English Literature and Journalism, an MA in Humanities/Music, and teaching and school administration credentials.
